What is Freedom Camping? Freedom camping (free camping) is when you camp on public ground that is not a recognised camping ground or holiday park. (Similar to wild camping or boondocking) Free camping usually means that campers do not have access to clean water, rubbish/waste disposal facilities at the camp site.
